Avoiding Chlorine and Saltwater

Avoiding Chlorine and Saltwater

After certain treatments, such as waxing, laser treatments, or chemical peels, clients should avoid swimming in chlorinated pools or saltwater, as these can irritate the skin and disrupt the healing process. Chlorine and salt can dry out the skin and increase sensitivity, leading to redness and discomfort. At SOS Wax and Skincare, clients should be advised to wait at least 48-72 hours before swimming or soaking in chlorinated or saltwater environments. This guideline helps to protect the skin and ensure that the results of the treatment are not compromised. Clients who plan to swim should be reminded to take extra care of their skin and to apply a gentle moisturizer or barrier cream after exposure to water to help protect and soothe the treated areas.
